Is an internet connection required?

At the moment, Yes. Your profile is stored securly online, so that is can be accessed 24/7. For this to be possible, the device must have a network connection.

Does the other person need an app?

No. Aslong as the other person has a compatible phone, your profile will be able to be viewed. You can find our compatibilty list here.
